At Slate Personnel we are proud to be involved with our community. Each year we support the following charities in hopes that we can do our part in making our world a better place.
CNIB
CNIB is a nationwide, community-based, registered charity committed to research, public education and vision health for all Canadians. CNIB provides the services and support necessary for people to enjoy a good quality of life while living with vision loss. The Slate Family have been helped throughout the years and as a tribute to Billy we will forever support the CNIB organization.

Edmonton Food Bank
Since 1981 the Edmonton Gleaners Association (Edmonton’s Food Bank) has been collecting food in order to feed those in need within our city. At Slate Personnel we support them in three ways: donations, the annual “Stuff the Bus” campaign and discounts on staff placements. In 2007 Slate Personnel won the Stuff the Bus challenge and we intend to win it every year.

Mustard Seed
The Mustard Seed is a humanitarian organization that works towards addressing the poverty levels in Greater Edmonton. They help people affected by poverty by providing food and some clothing to those in need. The staff at Slate Personnel likes to support the Mustard Seed by hosting dinners every year.

Salvation Army
The Salvation Army is an international Christian church. Its message is based on the Bible; its ministry is motivated by love for God and the needs of humanity. We contribute to their Christmas campaign every year in hopes that it will help them help those less fortunate find their way.

Samaritans Purse
This international organization provides support to all countries needing assistance. Support such as: relief and development, medical, children’s heart project, operation Christmas child, and prescriptions for hope. At Slate we support their Operation Christmas Child every year with a donation to go towards gifts for underprivileged children.

SPCA
Housed in a state of the art facility, the Edmonton Humane Society partners with the community to successfully find responsible life-long homes for every adoptable animal in its care and is recognized as an innovative leader in educating the public on animal welfare issues. At Slate we believe that all creatures are precious and we support the SPCA with an annual donation.

Stollery Children’s Hospital
The Stollery Children’s Hospital Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to raising funds for the Stollery Children’s Hospital. Their funding supports children’s health through equipment, education, research, and special services. We support the Stollery through donations and reduced fees on placement of new staff members.

United Way
The United Way’s mission is: To improve lives and build community by engaging individuals and mobilizing collective action. We support the United way annually with a donation at Christmas as well as donating gifts to auctions held throughout the year by our clients who also support the United Way.

University Hospital Foundation
Funds raised through the University Hospital Foundation add to government funding and provide a critical advantage in helping the University of Alberta Hospital and the Mazankowski Alberta Heart Institute advance their positions as world leaders in specialized and complex care. Our involvement with the foundation has been in the form of support to their Cancer campaigns and we continue to help them try to find a cure for this terrible disease.
